Hi all,

I had to update my pic so I could show ya'll. I have cheekbones again!!!!!

Surgery was on the 25th and I lost 12 pounds the first week, so that makes 16 total with pre-op measly 4 pounds.

I can only see it in my face as yet and my hands since my wedding ring is really loose now. (angling for mo betta sparklies soon)

Now you know why I'm smiling so big in my pic! lol

Thanks so much. When I see the pictures I know there is a difference. I wish the scale would show it more though. Can't wait for my stomach to really go down!! But putting on makeup is such a joy. There is less

"surface area" to cover. And isn't it great turning to the side and seeing cheek bones???? Love it.

My gold Bracelet is sliding...gee, guess I'll need to replace that too!

It is great to put makeup on now and not find myself being all depressed and wondering why I'm bothering. It's nice being able to wear all my jewelry thats been shut up for years as too tight. I can't wait til I can buy a regular old ankle Bracelet and actually have a pretty slender ankle to put it on. Also to go get a full pedicure and actually admire my feet or not be worrying if the person thinks it's gross having to work on my feet and massage my tree trunk of a leg.

It goes on and on doesn't it? Life is def getting better...so much to look forward to.

You go girl! Whenever her husband would ask what to get her for a gift, my friend Jane would say "Fine jewelry is always appropriate." :) Woohoo!

I now have check bones also. Everyone keeps talking about how thin my face has gotten. Its starting to get on my nerves because I want it to be noticeable in my body not just my face.

People ask me how much I have lost so far and I say...oh...uh....38 pounds.... and it even baffles ME! I am seeing digits on my scale I haven't laid eyes on in over 20 years!!!!

I can so relate to that, Kacee. I mean I still weight as much right now as I did when I was 6 months pregs with my son but at least its going down!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
