It is different for everyone. It was awful for me. 1 1/2 years. I lost so much hair I had no choice but to wear a wig. Thank goodness three years later and lots of TLC I am good, except the hair around my face never came back. I wear bangs so it is okay. Good luck.

Oh geez, at my age that scares me. hair gets thinner as we age. I work outdoors and in Louisiana gets too hot for wig. I've been taking Biotin and evening primrose for years for healthier hair. I used WEN for years and lost alot of hair, so afraid if happens with surgery my hair nay never be the same.

In August 2014 I went to New Orleans a year after surgery. The wig was so hot I was steaming! I went to the market and bought two hats but they were hot too. I get that! I took Biotin for two years. I am retired so I didn't have to go out much, I quit coloring my hair, I babied it with all kinds of stuff, bought the scalp powder which went in the trash. I survived it, and you will too!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
