Looking for support

Recommended Posts

I am pre op and have completed all preoperative classes and tests. All that is left is getting this 15 pounds off to hit goal weight. I'm looking for support and ideas. Anyone else in the same position and want to be a support buddy? Help hold each other accountable and offer suggestions to benefit each other in this journey?

Let me know!

Like you I'm trying to get the weight off and finished all the requirements. I'm waiting for a date of surgery. I have found that walking my dog 3 times a day has helped me get moving. Mr Homer has been losing weight which he needed to do and I am down 7 lbs.

My surgery date is November 9. I've never had a goal weight. They just told me to maintain, because I'm on the borderline of not qualifying. That makes me very nervous in terms of the insurance.

Thank you I appreciate it. Some days it's just so hard bc I get frustrated the weight needed to lose pre op isn't coming off like I'd like. Did you reach goal weight already? Any suggestions?

I double my goal loss by walking every day for at least 2 miles or 60 minutes and keeping my calories under 1600. I don't eat anything from a can or box, no wheat, potatoes, or corn. The only thing frozen I will eat is veggies or Arctic Zero, I get 60-80 on my Protein count and I keep my sodium below 1,800. My diet and routine are pretty strict.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
