I'm thinking I might just go buy a throw away phone so I can communicate with my family. What have others done? RoachBug 233 Posted September 30, 2016 Went to the Bahamas a few months ago. I checked with Verizon prior to going, they had "special cheaper plans for international cruise ships", it was outrageous. You get billed boocoo for all incomming, outgoing, and voicemail. I left the phone on Airplane mode while out to sea and just kept in touch through Facebook, texting, via the free on-board wifi.
