So it's been a week since I was sleeved. I have been very lucky and have not taken any pain medication ainxe the surgery. The nurse and the doctors were very happy I was able to walk and go to the bathroom after surgery. I mean it hurt, but it was manageable.

My biggest concern was that I was always hungry. I was able to drink the 60+ oz. Of Water on day 2 and started having some broth. But I was miserable since I was just hungry all the time. It made me question the surgery, specially when I read all the comments from you guys saying you dis not feel hunger at all.

Yesterday I had my 1 week post op consultation and I have already dropped 13 pounds (I was 214 before surgery and now I am 201). The doctor is allowing me to have some light/clear Soups, Jello and Protein Shakes. Yesterday I had soem squash Soup, half bowl and some jello. But damn I was so hungry I wanted to cry. Today instead, I had also half bowl of soup (very watery) and I finally felt full. I felt satisfied once I ate it. I grabbed some sugar free jello, but did not touch it, because I am satisfied. FINALLY!!!!

I am just drinking water for now and maybe I will have that jello later. But I cannot tell you the relief I feel by not being so crazy hungry all the time. I had the craziest thoughts!

I am only hoping I can really do this. I posted yesterday telling you all how I feel I will fail... but after today I think I might be able to make it.

Do you guys know of support meetings in LA? Also, how about therapists that specialize in food disorders? I think I need to get myself a very strong support system if I wish to succeed.

Thank you all for the support! Your messages and posts are very encouraging.

I am three weeks out tomorrow and can tell you that once you get to the purée, cottage cheese, refried Beans, yogurts, etc. you will feel much better. I now eat something, 4 oz or less every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I'm mostly hungry first thing in the morning but I think it's because of the large number of hours without food. I sip a lot of Water and try to use Protein supplements in the Water. There are many flavors available.

Good luck, be patient!

Congratulations on your surgery. I am happy to see you're doing well, and glad the feeling of starvation is subsiding. That is going to be the worst for me.

Chin up, sweetie. You have an entire world to conquer!!! Good luck to you in the next couple weeks. I'll be paying attention to your progress.

Thank you @@Lori Orr. I am staying positive! I think I can do this... it is not easy, but I know I can.

One of my mom's best friends is a therapist that specializes in therapy for people that go through loss weight surgeries. I talked to her today and she was sooooo helpful. I think it helped me with a lot of my fears. I need to find a therapist ASAP, I think that would make a world of difference.

Thank you again and good luck to you too!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
