doogman87 11 Posted September 28, 2016 Hey everyone. I am 29, 5'7, 391 lbs. GBS is something that I have thought about doing and just got a referral from my doctor to see a specialist. Let me side noteven for a second. I eat right, very healthy for a big guy, I do exercise (helps when I live 5 mins from the beach), walk 3-4 miles a day, 4 days a week. I have not list any weight, hence why I got a referral to see the specialist. I have read on here, that people do not regret having it done. I guess what I'm looking for is someone to talk to, who is the process, and some one who has had it done. KristenLe 5,979 Posted September 28, 2016 @@doogman87 Welcome. You may find some info in the "Guy's Room" that will help you to decide what to do. Most people will tell you the only thing they regret is not doing it sooner. Good luck on your journey! http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/431-the-guys%E2%80%99-room/
Pescador 1,374 Posted September 28, 2016 Sounds like you are not sitting around eating! Welcome to the group. Fifteen or maybe more years ago I followed my poor husband to WL seminars. If he had known about the sleeve back then I think how wonderful it would have been for him. However it is never too late, as we were sleeved at 67, three years ago. Best of luck! bitingcat 87 Posted September 29, 2016 My husband's boss loves his sleeve. He didn't really talk about it (though wls was assumed) until my husband asked if he could work from home a few days to help me with my surgery. Then he turned into a fount of support BTW, I'm totally the whole food, home made, hippy eater (mmm - delicious hippies...) But I'm 45 now, and my body's starting to fall apart to the point where I can't hike or bike. Which is why I'm here. Good luck finding what works best for you! shoodle72 61 Posted September 29, 2016 Hi Doogman87, welcome. I'm 43 and live in Sydney Australia. I'm scheduled for Gastric Sleeve surgery on the 21st October. I can't wait. I have weighed up my options. I've seen my brother have a miserable time with his gastric band cause it makes him vomit.
