Does our stomachs ever stop making the crazy ass noises? Whenever I eat or drink it growls and rumbles...funky noises! People look at me funny...which is not a big deal...but I took a drink of my Protein Shake in a meeting and those noises where heard by all. Most people just smiled, but does it ever stop being so loud??

I'm a sleeve newbie although I read a lot to continue learning. I just saw a Dr. Alvarez video on this, and he said it'll eventually subside.

@@Raynbolite

For me it finally happened in my 7th month.

Prior to that I felt I sounded like a bath tub. The gurgles were so loud!

Now I get it occasionally, if I eat too fast, otherwise my stomach is finally behaving itself!

I'm over 3 years out and I still occasionally get the rumblies. It's embarrassing but I just remind myself that it's not nearly as embarrassing as being 350+ lbs in public, having to sit in two airplane seats, or being unable to fit in a restaurant booth!

9 months post op and it still happens but less often than immediately post op. When it happens I am usually eating appropriate things so I don't know any way to stop it. Also I can eat the same thing and 1 time my stomach will make noises and 1 time it won't. Weird!

I'm so jealous of those of you who don't have the strange noises anymore! I am six years out and have all kinds of crazy sounds in there. And, of course, my totally obnoxious and loud hiccough that notifies me I have officially had enough to eat. ????

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
