Yay Xombae! Sleeve buddies! How have you been coping with wedding and the pre op diet?

My preop diet is pretty lax (egg whites, turkey deli meat, chicken, white fish, Protein shakes) but being at work in the lunchroom with everyone is a little tough. I'm noticing everyone is eating everything I can't have. And as far as the wedding goes, it's just a small courthouse wedding with a few family members so stress is low.

No, but my plan states specifically no fruits or vegetables. I'll post it on here when I get home.

Okay, it's different in the UK. All i had yesterday was a cup of hot chicken stock for Breakfast as I didn't have any milk for shakes and 2 bottles of Water. Then had steam stirfry veg and 2 cod fillets when 8 got home from the hospital. How did your pre op go. Did they swab you for MRSA?

Nope, all I have left to do is a blood test the day before surgery.

It looks like mine will be the first or second week in November and I was thinking I could start a Facebook group just for us November sleevers.

I tried joining the group since my sleeve is November 23, but it says no more members are being accepted. If it is okay, I would still like to join.

My surgery is November 4th, and 4 days after my wedding. My status with my insurance company is still pending, but the center I'm going to for my surgery said not to worry since they're out of network. (but I'm paying in network prices)

I'm the 4th as well!!,

AnaDana I started preop diet today and I came to bed early to try to fight the hunger. Not sure if I'm really hungry or if it's all in my head. I know I have to succeed though. Here is what I have to do for mine. attachicon.gifImageUploadedByBariatricPal1477445355.305700.jpg

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
