rolosmom7 740 Posted September 28, 2016 So I know it's always sip, sip, sip. But I felt like I couldn't ever ever hit fl oz goals with that. I was getting really dehydrated. To prevent dehydration, I started taking a "gulp" - more like a normal swallow and it gave some pressure but I could finally get 40oz in. Still working on that 64. Is this damaging to my sleeve? I can find tons of food info and common sense tells me Water can't hurt me but just want to see if anyone else has had experience here?
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 28, 2016 I don't think it would necessarily be damaging to your sleeve but it could be uncomfortable/painful.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted September 28, 2016 As long as you aren't experiencing any discomfort or pain, you should be fine. Definitely stop whenever you feel pressure, and try to stay more towards small swallows than big gulps. Good luck!
rolosmom7 740 Posted September 28, 2016 Thanks. It can be uncomfortable, but being dehydrated is more uncomfortable.
sc101071 398 Posted September 28, 2016 It may sound weird but I take in a lot of Water and then partition my swallow so it goes down not all at once. I have worried about taking in too much in a short period. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
rolosmom7 740 Posted September 28, 2016 I do that too, even with food as I'm getting accustomed to small bites
