liljilo 50 Posted September 28, 2016 Hi everyone, I am 3 weeks out from my surgery (it was on 9/6). I'm down a little over 20 pounds which is great, but I've definitely noticed a stall in my weight loss the past several days. I've read other posts about a "3 week plateau." Anyone else with this experience? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using the BariatricPal App
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 28, 2016 Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Everyone experiences stalls and just about everyone experiences a stall about three weeks post-op. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Exercise when cleared. Stay off the scale. And, Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall. gidgetgrl 76 Posted September 28, 2016 4 weeks and stalled here too.. I think its a normal process, your body is trying to adjust post surgery and I know personally I started at a lower BMI, at 60yrs. Old I'm not going to have a fast metabolism either! My Dr said Monday at my second post op appt that the weight loss can continue between 12-18 months post surgery..So I'm just doing what I am supposed to be doing, next I will add exercise which I'm sure will help! Raynbolite 302 Posted September 28, 2016 I've had two stalls...one at 3wks and now one at 8wks. Frustrating, but it ends. My body kept changing though, I have ankles now...it's all part of the ride. Just keep doing what you're doing, don't give up....you are doing everything right. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 28, 2016 I have had a stall for three weeks. The scales are not moving. Am I doing anything wrong? I guess it depends on what you are doing whether or not you are doing something "wrong". Are you tracking your food? Are you following your program? Are you getting at least 64 oz of Fluid a day? Are you getting enough Protein? What is your Protein target? Are you taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed? Are you exercising? Are you eating enough to support your exercise intensity? Are you avoiding starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods?

Thanks for replying I am really not tracking my food. Have a very hectic schedule. I don't think i am meeting my Proteins and Water intake. How much is 64oz ? Manage to drink about 1l a day. Dint start exercising yet , planning to start next week. I am not eating any starches, sugars except on my bday few days ago. So maybe you can guide me please. Its scary and frustrating not to lose anymore

Its scary and frustrating not to lose anymore For me, tracking is critical for making sure I reach my protein target. I use MyFitnessPal, a free app, because it is really easy. My protein target is 100 grams. Did your surgeon give you one? Do you have a NUT? 64 oz is 64 oz! One cup is 8 oz. So 8 cups is 64 oz. Or, 3 20 oz bottles plus more. KristenLe 5,979 Posted September 28, 2016 @@dream2btrue 1 liter is not enough - you need at least 2 liters. You need to meet your Protein and fluid goals. It's important for healing and weight loss.
