Pescador 1,374 Posted September 27, 2016 It is so hard, very hard. In fact the just before and just after surgery is the worst. After that it is a time to delight in new meals, plans, and tastes. The only advice I can offer is to keep busy, really really busy! Good luck!!!!!
FindingOnederland 10 Posted September 27, 2016 My advice would be to drink TONS of Water. Whenever you get a hunger pang, Drink some water. It will keep you hydrated and stave off the hunger pains. At the same time, don't deprive yourself. Make sure you are having 3 "meals" per day or whatever guidelines your Dr gave you. This part is so tough but its sooooo important. Don't give up. You're Almost there!!!!!!

FindingOnederland 10 Posted September 27, 2016 So far for me it is. I'm 3 weeks out, I'm 47 pounds lighter. way more energetic, and I can move better to keep up with my kiddo. Stairs are easier to climb, running doesn't hurt my knees anymore, and I'm no longer pre- diabetic. Plus I was already sexy as hell, but now I'm like "Bow chika bow bow" (that last part was a not so subtle opinion from my husband.) So yes ma'm IT is totally worth it! Thanks! just tell me it'll be worth it!Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

laceemouse 631 Posted September 27, 2016 Thank you all! I thought it would be easy... I'm so excited but this is terrible! I haven't cheated tho. 6 days to go! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Can I ask a dumb question? Why did you think it would be easy? If eating almost nothing was easy for me I wouldn't have gotten obese. Every diet I have ever tried has been hard for me because I am HUNGRY morning, noon, and night. Once I did Weight Watchers for a few months and lost about 40 pounds. This is the most success I have ever had with ANY diet. It is low calorie, but not super low. I woke up hungry, ate all I was allowed to eat all day long, was hungry all day, and went to bed hungry! I am just surprised that other people who are large enough to be getting WLS have not had to deal with hunger. I think I was born hungry.

The New Kel 1,312 Posted September 27, 2016 Guys I am starving on this liquid diet! 6 days to go!! Ugh! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I' right there with you. I am also sleeved Oct 3. I constanty want something to eat! Protein shakes just are not enough. I am cranky and have a raging headache...can't take advil which is my 'go to'. Plus today I had a totally stressful day, like a 9/10 on the stress level. I was thinking about how I used to eat crap on days like this. I'm glad I'm not... but this sucks! The striggle is real! 5 and a half more days. Good luck to you!!
Kween Rain 2 Posted September 27, 2016 I'm getting the sleeve on the 4th...the first and second day of the liquid diet was horrible!!!!... But I think a lot of it is mental... laceemouse 631 Posted September 27, 2016 Touché ....maybe I should have said easier... sorry Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I didn't mean to sound mean, I honestly think there is something wrong with me. So many people talk about head hunger and emotional eating and eating because they are bored, etc. I am pre-surgery and I can tell you that I am physically hungry all the time. It isn't just in my head. My stomach growls, it feels empty. And it happens when I am not bored in the least. I didn't have a tough childhood and I am not an overly emotional person now. I have a pretty easy, happy life. I start every day thinking I am going to "eat healthy and do better" but by the middle of the afternoon I feel like I am going to faint with hunger. When I eat a healthy dinner (lean Protein, veggies, maybe even a small serving of healthy carbs) I get up from the table hungry. I meet friends for lunch and have a normal, healthy "lady" lunch. If we sit and talk for a couple of hours I leave the restaurant hungry. I hate it
