fd319 86 Posted September 27, 2016 I am a week post op today!! I'm down 14 lbs since surgery and 55 lbs total. I had my post appointment yesterday and got cleared for stage two diet. YUMMY APPLESAUCE. haha. Anyways my doctor wants me to take a stool softener but I wanted to see when everyone else had their first poop after surgery. I don't feel bloated or blocked. Sorry for the TMI. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

elle2769 1 Posted September 27, 2016 Had to finally take a stool softener/laxative 10 days post-op. Hadn't gone since morning of surgery and was feeling terrible. When I finally was able to go it was the dryest, worst poop of my life and took me about a half hour. And it smelled of chemicals, it was awful. Don't go too long otherwise it just gets worse. Raynbolite 302 Posted September 28, 2016 I've been fighting Constipation since week one...I'm on week 8. Even having to resort to enemas. I am so frustrated. I drink tons of fluids...called my drs but they just tell me to use laxatives and stool softeners. Very frustrating, just I just keep taking it day by day. My dr says I should have a movement every 3 to 5 days. I keep trying!! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App
jenrock13 1 Posted September 28, 2016 I was sleeved on the 15th, and my first bowel movement was about 5-6 days later. I felt much better. Since then, I have been having bowel movements every other day, mostly watery. Yuck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App I'm really afraid that this will be the rest of my life now, I always had no issues popping and I never even thought about the effect the surgery would have on this part of my life. Haha. I think I would end up in the hospital because I could never give myself or let my family give me an enema. Raynbolite 302 Posted September 28, 2016 My husband helped with the enemas... embarrassing yes, but at that point I didn't care who did what to me, I just wanted the pain to stop! It's horrible and I don't know what to do to fix it. I only hope it gets better as I am able to eat more normally. fd319 86 Posted September 28, 2016 I was lucky enough to have finally gone last night before I took the stool softener. I still took it this morning just to try and regulate everything. And good luck @@Raynbolite I hope everything gets better for you!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
