Zoes.Realm 190 Posted September 26, 2016 Well I just passed my 6 months out from my WLS. I almost can't believe that it's already been this long. I've lost 82 lbs in that time frame. I am still having trouble seeing the new smaller me. Is anyone else having this issue as well? All those around me, tell me all of the time that I am that I am getting "skinny". Each time I blow it off and say whatever. I am afraid I will never see myself at the weight that others see me. I want to feel like everyone see's me. For those that are further out, have you had this problem and if so has it gotten better along the way? Anything I can do to help change my mind's eye to see my true self? Also, here are my current journey pictures. Thanks everyone Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
sondra2368 26 Posted September 26, 2016 I am 4 months out and only 50 pounds down and facing the same thing. I find that getting cute clothes and fixing yourself up makes you feel the weight that you lost Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I find that getting cute clothes and fixing yourself up makes you feel the weight that you lost Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I am slowly buying some new things. I do not buy much because I am losing and changing sizes very often. I more interested in taking pics and looking in the mirror. Also looking a clothes in on my mind everytime I go to the store and before I didn't even want to pass the clothing. oscodagal 25 Posted September 26, 2016 You look awesome! And our brains are very powerful! Do what you're doing - take pictures and that way you can compare your body. I was sleeved on 5/10 and I have found that my mind hasn't caught up to my body. I've lost 65 lbs but sometimes I still see the same person in the mirror. I have 45 more pounds to go but I would imagine it stays challenging. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Candygyrl 637 Posted September 27, 2016 See I have the exact opposite issue. I see myelf as smaller than I am. I don't let clothes get too big because I'm too eager to move into that next size range. I bought some Kenneth Cole jeans that are too small but am confident I'll be in them by the end of next month. If not then definetely by Thanksgiving. I am constantly glancing in the mirror, not surprised by what I see because I've always seen myself smaller in my head. Its just finally coming to fuition. Can't wait to be 6 months post op! Jobey 177 Posted September 27, 2016 I'm almost 4 months post op and down just shy of 90lbs. I keep saying I need to go to a supermarket and get out 90lbs or oranges or flour or something just to see how much it is to help my brain adjust.

sondra2368 26 Posted September 28, 2016 I'm four months post op and frustrated that I haven't lost as much as I should. How did you do it? I'm only 50 pounds down. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Jobey 177 Posted September 28, 2016 I had a high BMI and about 40lbs of that was weight I put on at the beginning of the year cause I was diagnosed with a chronic illness and the drug they had to use to treat it causes mass weight gain on the dose I had to be on. I know you're probs sick of hearing it, but everyone really is different. I also detest Protein shakes so I eat 90 grams of Protein a day, minimum.
