sarajeano 28 Posted September 25, 2016 Two weeks post op and I'm having no problem drinking Water, and find myself still drinking it fast with no problem. Is that a problem? Still following pre/during/post meals and Snacks, but after waiting so long to drink after a meal I get soooo thirsty I can help it!! Sleeved 9/12/
highfunctioningfatman 2,675 Posted September 25, 2016 I wish! I'm struggling with Fluid intake because I'm not thirsty.
Patchakc 45 Posted September 25, 2016 I envy you. I can't seem to drink anything. It all taste like poop. If your not having any issues I say go for it, but I would wait a bit after you eat
quirkhorse 30 Posted September 25, 2016 I'm the same way. Only 6 days post op and I am so thirsty and really taking fluids quickly. No problems so far. I'm sure I'll struggle with the 30 min rule once I graduate to purees. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
sarajeano 28 Posted September 26, 2016 Thanks all. Guess I'm just worried I'm doing too much too fast but I think my body would let me know if that's bad? Water is the easiest to get down (for obvious reasons) but even a zero Vitamin Water is harder than just plain old water. Sleeved 9/12/
sherryjolene 24 Posted September 26, 2016 I am 9 days post op and have no problems with any fluids. I can also drink Water fast and in large amounts. broth, tea, Protein drinks, they all go down easily. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Candygyrl 637 Posted September 26, 2016 Lucky you... 3 months post op and I still have to drink Water quite gingerly. Love the taste. Love it ice cold but it seems like my stomach shuts down after sip 4. If I try to sneak in 1 more... i get very nauseated and I won't drink for awhile and when I do again it's very carefully. I can't, it gets hung up in my throat. I'm getting away with propel water. I've done Gatorade g2, Powerade Zero, vitamin water zero and something else that I don't recall. Water though kicks my butt. Utleyshair 4 Posted September 26, 2016 Sleeved on 9/5- any liquids are a challenge. Although I think it's getting better each day. I'm really waiting and longing for a normal small meal and a glass of sweet Water soon:-( Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
M579 19 Posted September 26, 2016 LOL I just posted almost the same thing a few minutes ago. I am almost two weeks out and was worried that I was drinking too much and stretching my sleeve. All I want is ice Water. I push myself to do the Protein shakes but I like the broth. A little sip of ice Water isn't cutting it for me. I need a few sips/swallows. I am thirsty! There is a Protein water that I have tried that is okay. yucky after taste, but mixed with ice I can get one down over the period of two hours out in the heat like sitting at my kid's games. The 20 grams of protein is worth a little yucky after taste.
Utleyshair 4 Posted September 26, 2016 Everything I have tried had a horrific after taste including water:-( Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
