Coffee consumption

Recommended Posts

Wanted to ask how much coffee are many sleevers with more than a year out after surgery consume on a daily basis. I have heard of some sleevers consuming 16-20 oz of coffee. Also what about latte's from starbucks or any other coffee chain. What sizes of coffee do many of you consume?

I drink about 5 cups of black coffee a day, sometimes more.

If I order anything from Starbucks, it's usually a tall redeye, dark roast.

Very rarely, as a treat, I will get a tall skinny vanilla latte or a tall vanilla sweet cream cold brew.

I'm only a month out, but with the blessing of my team, I can have 16 oz of coffee at day. (I drink it black). For every 8 oz. of coffee, I must drink an additional 8 oz of Water. I was happy to live with that because death before Decaf. :)

Depends on my goal. I use caffeine including coffee form as an appetite suppressant. On those days, 1-5 cups can happen. When not dieting, I drink 0-2 cups a day.

I drink 1 cup of coffee a day. I get a skinny iced vanilla latte about twice a month. I budget those calories though

my morning travel mugs range from 20-24 ounces. I have 4 ounces of fairlife milk with a dash of half and half (gradually transitioning over to the milk) and stevia in mine. almost every work day, sometimes on the weekend.

more of a tea drinker on the weekend - and my pretty little teapot I hand carried back from England is two and a half tea cups, and in my tea cup I put 1 tsp of honey that lasts for all 2.1/2 cups of tea.

sorry. I just saw you wanted 1 year out. I'm only 7.5 months out from surgery, but I do not see this answer changing once I get to a year.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
