babsey101 1 Posted September 25, 2016 I've only lost 10 lbs initially but nothing since. I'm getting very discouraged. I also can eat more than I thought I would be able too. I ate a whole sandwich without any discomfort. Is this the way it should be? I think I'm the only person this hasn't work for. Pescador 1,374 Posted September 25, 2016 Babsey, at three years out I cannot eat a whole sandwich. Please take it slow and easy. I hear it is pretty dangerous to over eat. I have no bread in my house, so I can't be tempted. I think eating carbs will make you crave more carbs. I do remember being on puréed food at six weeks post surgery. Good luck, and if I were you I would discuss with your surgeon and NUT.
breuxo 78 Posted September 25, 2016 4 weeks out and eating bread? i have 2 weeks full fluids, 2 weeks puréed then on to soft foods. i think it is to soon for sandwiches. also get a food scale and weigh out what you should be eating. you may not have the full feeling could be swollen still Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Rebecca Friesen 80 Posted September 25, 2016 You are going to make yourself sick. Your stomach is still healing. I am 1.5 years out and just ate a sandwich today. It was a small one made out of a rap and it doesn't feel pleasant. You might want to take it a bit slower! :-)
TCC2010 2 Posted September 25, 2016 It will be 4 weeks for me on Tues and I'm eating pureed and soft foods and I can eat up to a 1/2 cup of food three times a day and all of it is Protein. I've lost 26 lbs, I notice if I do too much I feel nauseated! I can't imagine eating a whole sandwich right now. Are you not drinking Water before and after your meals? My surgeon said to not drink anything 30 min after your meal because it will flush it away and cause over eating. Armygalbonnie 643 Posted September 25, 2016 I won't even be allowed to have bread on my food plan. Like most, I will be on liquids for 2 weeks, pureed for 2 weeks, soft foods for 2 weeks and then regular foods. Regular food includes 2 oz lean Protein and 1/4 cup vegetables. Carbs are of the devil!!! lol
