If so, what do you eat it with? I am 1 month out and able to eat anything now. Just want something easy on the stomach.

Initially I used to eat it on thin slices or sticks of cucumber... now I eat it with carrot sticks

Enjoy

In small amounts because it is so high calorie and high carb. I like it as a bit of binder with chopped hard boiled eggs, or just have a few small spoonfuls on its own.

I like it and I still eat it periodically. When I first tried it, I stayed away from the roasted red pepper version and stuck with the bland original, because my stomach was not a fan of things with flavor. Now though, in small servings, any variety is a nice treat. I try to avoid eating it very often because it has a lot of sodium and calories, although the calories are not the bad kind. Hummus for me is like avocado...good fat that is nice to have in limited portions.

I'm going to try it for the first time post-op this week. I'll have a bit of it mixed in with chicken that I cooked and ran through the food processor, instead of making a chicken salad with a bit of mayo or greek yogourt.

I do. I agree with a small spoon. Be careful for the overspicy.

What is hummus. I have never heard of it . Lol yes I live a sheltered life lol. I am 16 months out and I still don't like the feeling of eating anything that has a solid base as in meats. I eat very small portions. I eat alot of my own possessed veggies out of my garden . I made a mild salsa . Grandma's old Recipe it called for sugar so I used stevia instead and it turned out great . I put it on all my meats and they are much easier to get down

Ok. I have to show my stupidity. I though the header said: "Anyone eat humans?"

Think I need glasses

Or.....

Is the OP a zombie who recently had WLS and was on an all animal brain pre-op diet?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
