One thing you do to set up your day in a positive way?

Recommended Posts

I still have a Protein latte (25 oz) every morning and still really love it. For the first time since the surgery I ran out a couple of weeks ago and they couldnt deliver for a week. Good god, I was like a bitch from Hell. I like the fact its a good chunk of Fluid which starts me off in a positive way plus the 15g of Protein first thing is a good way to start the day.

What do you still do which helps set you up for the day?

Kate

I do Premiere shake in my coffee. 30 Gms of Protein and about 3/4 of a cup of coffee. I count it as 16oz of Fluid on my tracker. It makes a good coffee creamer and starts my morning out right!

the less thinking i have to do when i first wake up the better! so my lunch is already prepared to grab out of the fridge, same with Breakfast. I already have dinner planned and often prepped. I also already know what i'm going to wear. So what do I do with that time that I would have been running around trying to figure those things out? I have a good long stretching session to help my body wake up.

Hey Kate! Nice to see you! I've not logged on here for ages but I am just back from visiting my son in Australia and feel I need to concentrate on my food for a while. I didn't put on or lose any weight while away but did slip into eating some weird rubbish, so have decided to get back to entering food on MFP.

Well here we are the fabulous threesome. How many stones have we lost between us! Must be in the 20 s . Watch out for that Halloween rubbish. I had a Haribo thing last night to shut up my friends grandchild and I lost a filling!

Still running in the mornings god it was dark on Friday so I'm glad the clocks have changed.

We must all meet up !

Every morning, I like to weigh myself, log it, then review what I ate the day before in my food log (calories/carbs/fats/nutrition). It helps me stay focused... Then I usually follow it up with a good cup of coffee.< /p>

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
