gabby1693 12 Posted September 24, 2016 ok, so i am 11 days out of surgery and am feeling fine, and i want to know when others actually got out and started spicing up their workouts. I have been walking but i wanna ride the bike or hop on the elliptical. i was working out every day until my surgery and have always been fairly active and now since im not hurting i feel i should be doing more. Dub 9,922 Posted September 24, 2016 I wish I could hit the "LIKE" button multiple times..........because your post deserves it. I asked my surgeon the same question........he said to not lift anything heavy for two weeks.........but to keep moving every day. He was all about the treadmill and elliptical as soon as I felt like it......1-3 weeks out.

LowBMISleever 381 Posted September 25, 2016 I second @@Dub - get on that elliptical! Start slowly just to make sure you have the energy you think you have, then you can kill it! I haven't missed a day at the gym since I was 3 weeks out of surgery. It's my favorite part of the day!! Endorphins buzzing, serotonin & dopamine releasing, fat cells being obliterated, muscle being earned...makes me soo happy!! onewayoranother 35 Posted September 25, 2016 I started back with yoga and swimming on day 12. Loved being back and had no issues. I lift heavy free weights so we agreed to wait six weeks. Doctor said I could lift light now if I wanted.
shoodle72 61 Posted September 25, 2016 I have been given a 2kg lifting capacity for the first 4 weeks. No gym work for 6 weeks. I was told that you can run the risk of hernias, adhesions and multiple other complications. I'm listening to this advice. I have seen a friend who didn't and she developed seromas that needed to be drained. No thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
