Autumn Fury 67 Posted September 24, 2016 (edited) My surgery is Monday, I've done really well with the preoperative diet until today. I need to do clear liquid tomorrow and for the first week. I've tried Isopure, Atkins Lift & I can't stomach the taste. Is there a clear flavorless Protein Powder that I can pick up locally to mix in with broths, Water. Jello, etc. that taste decent? Any other suggestions for something ready to drink someone can recommend? Thanks in advance. Pescador 1,374 Posted September 24, 2016 Just do broth, SF apple cider, and your surgeons recommendations and you will be fi.ne. We have been there!

heidikat72 935 Posted September 25, 2016 there are unflavored powders. Note that unflavored does NOT mean tasteless - just that it doesn't have vanilla or chocolate or a fruit flavor added. So honestly, I find them to have a very offputting "proteiny" taste and smell. However Protein powders are a matter of personal taste. I tried adding the unjury unflavored to SF Jello but found that as the Jello set, the Protein Powder settled out. But there are people who have successfully done it - wish I knew what their trick for success was! If adding to broth - just make sure the broth is below 140 degrees Fahrenheit or the Protein with coagulate and be gross. Unjury has a chicken broth flavored protein powder that would count on clears and is quite tasty - just follow the same temperature rule as above.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 25, 2016 It's not a powder, but ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates are clear.

And that's exactly right, you just have to buckle down and get through it. For me, it helped to think of the Protein shakes as my medicine during that time - that way I wasn't looking for them to be tasty, just get it down.

Most powdered Proteins I have used have a serving size of a scoop or two and the scoops are larger than a teaspoon. It's not a powder, but ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates are clear.Do they taste like chalk? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App No, they are fruity flavors. One is a green tea.
