3 Days Post Op

Recommended Posts

I had gastric bypass on 9/20. The issues I have had are scar tissue from a previous surgery. I came home the evening of 9/21. My pain level went up after I got home. Then it started going down as expected. Today I started Protein Shakes and I am in severe pain. I am still very bloated and uncomfortable. I feel very cold. But I don't have a fever.

:( Sorry you ended up back in the hospital.

We had surgery the same day and I too have a post-op complication.

I hope all goes well and keep us posted on how you're doing.

I'm good now I also had a severe UTI & intestinal infection. I came home a couple days ago and today I feel better than ever. I am still having a hard time drinking all the Water, protein, meds & Vitamins. But at least I am pain free.

No BM at all? That isn't good you could have a blockage. I experienced that with an unrelated surgery. Landed me back in the hospital for 5 days. It's very serious. Call your doctor today!

@@laneydasilva I had my surgery on the same date ' I have that exist pain ! It's our liver! I was told

Our liver got moved around some and it's sore. Also suffering with Constipation . I finally made it all happen this morning but had to use two different products. My issues now are feeling hungry and not being able to find things that satisfy me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
