So glad to be back on track

Recommended Posts

I am 4 years post op. Never got to goal (went from 297to 206). Then gained back 40 over the past couple of years. Just hate myself for it. Felt so broken and like such a failure.

Started a modified 5dpt last Sunday. Walking on treadmill every day for 20 minutes (its a start) and keeping calories under 900 but being sure to get in more than the minimum Protein.< /p>

I feel so clear headed, calm and in control again.

Down 12lb, but just feel better.

Brenda, kudos to you for recommitting. Don't hate yourself, it happens to many, including myself. I am sure you have heard this before, but weight loss surgery is a tool, not a magical cure. During the "honeymoon" phase, we tend to forget that because the weight just seems to melt off. But, for long-term, sustainable results, we need to really learn proper nutrition and healthy eating habits. I live with a certified nutritionist, and still didn't get that part! :( I gained back 50 pounds. But, now, with following proper, healthy eating habits and tracking every single bite that goes in my mouth, I too am back on track.

I get the part about the clear head, calm and being in control again. It is really a great feeling, isn't it? You can do this. We can do this, especially with the wonderful support from our friends here on BariatricPal.

Thanks Susan. Feels great! I just have to remember why this is important. I want to be able to better run my dogs in agility. I want to enjoy having pictures taken. I am making flash cards with my reasons.

Brenda- AWESOME results for you!

I think that everyone here would love to hear what your 'modified' actually boiled down to, and what exactly you ate.

That seems to be a familiar story for a lot of us here, and having a specific plan would be appreciated by all the readers!!!

Congrats and keep up the great work

Hi everyone. I've been back on track since Sept 11th. Down 18 lbs and feel so much happier with myself. Much less self loathing!

I did liquid for 7 days and then moved on to soft foods from there. First couple of weeks I did a lot of Protein Shakes and kept calories to under 800. My body got wise after 2 1/2 weeks and stalled out so I upped calories and have been steadily been losing fractions of a pound each day.

I have kept sugar and carbs out. I will eat fruit and veggies (squash) with carbs but no sugar, bread etc.

keeping calories under 1200 a day

I haven't been on here in ages but I'm beginning to panic and thought this is where I needed to come for help. I'm not yet at two years and I'm losing control. It seems like I've lost my way and not sure how to get back. We just made a huge move and I attributed (blamed) getting so off track to that. It's just excuses. So here I am reading and getting the vibes from you all to get back where I belong! Brenda it sounds like you are in control once again. Good for you!
