Remove soda completely from your diet. As for chips, why? Are you looking for crunch factor? If so, there are others ways to get that crunch feeling.

If it must be chips, there are some good Protein chips alternatives out there that can be used as a treat, but not an everyday thing. By treat, I mean once a week.

I trust the surgeon when he advised against Diet Coke, etc. I think the carbonation causes bloating, not to mention the unhealthy affect on us by soft drinks. I am thankful to have lost my addiction to Diet Coke and will take Water any way. As far as chips, if I wanted to eat chips I would not have had the sleeve. If you eat like that you need to stay overweight and not put yourself through surgery. Make sure you always have healthy food with you, so you won't be tempted.

@@KristenLe I honestly think this is a prank... If it's not, it really doesn't even merit a response at this point. If the OP didn't care enough to read her post op instructions or listen to her NUT, then I don't care enough to offer a response. For people with honest, heartfelt questions, I will give all my time. For posts like this, well, it's just a waste. I'm excited for you to finally get sleeved - bc you are an EXPERT at this point and are going to be so successful!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
