HanSolo1977 261 Posted September 23, 2016 So today was day two of softer solid foods. I had another part of the chicken breast i had for dinner last night, but this time my pouch wouldn't tolerate it and three trips to the bathroom later I threw up. I ate really slowly and chewed it up really well, but 10 mins after eating I had pain and it felt like something was stuck in my throat. Did I eat too much or maybe it wasn't soft enough anymore? I'm trying to figure out how to not repeat it since it happened at work.
Shaunie 123 Posted September 23, 2016 chicken is one of the hardest foods to digest. I'm 11 weeks out and still cannot get a 1/2c done. Always make sure you are having with some kind of sauce/gravy it helps. Usually the stuck feeling is maybe not being chewed well enough. My nut told me never cut it in cubes try to shred. Good luck Sent from my SGH-T999L using the BariatricPal App
Daisee68 2,493 Posted September 23, 2016 I'm at 15 months post-op and there are still times that I can eat something one day and not tolerate it the next. chicken can be finicky and if it is too chewy, it can be difficult. I certainly couldn't eat it as early as you were. I was told to try chicken thighs because they are more moist than breast (but personally I didn't like the fattiness in the thighs). This is a bit of trial and error for a while but I would go for a little softer foods for a few days and let your system calm a little. You will get there. Mechia_vsg 2 Posted September 23, 2016 I'm 4 week post-op and am also at the soft food Stage. I find that chicken breast is too tough at times. So I opt for chicken wings. On a good day I can eat one whole wing. So maybe try a different part of the chicken. Hope this helps Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
