I can't help but grin....we lost our grandmother recently. Her funeral is this weekend. I want to look my best for her, so I had to go shopping. I haven't bought a dress in 5yrs. I'm in my 7th week post op. I have seen some changes, but I am loosing weight slowly. I went to the dreaded store today and to my surprise, I am a 22. Not a 24 or 26. I am smaller!! I'm 6ft tall, so a 22 actually looked decent! I might have slow loss, but I have loss! Yay! Sorry, had to share with people who'd understand!????

Well I have to say this was a bizarre lead in to good news! ????. I'm very sorry for the loss of your grandmother! That's great you are in a size 22! I bet that'll be big soon! To go down 2 sizes in 7 weeks doesn't sound like slow loss to me!

My weight loss on the scale is slow, but my body seems to be changing. It was nice to see a change. I just have to be patient.

Loosing my grandmother was horrible, but not sudden...she was 95. I will miss her horribly, but my change in size would have made her happy. I know it was weird to be happy looking for funeral dresses.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
