laliza 45 Posted September 22, 2016 Thanx! Did you stay longer than the 1 night stay. Did ur reflux ( if u had any) go away? Did you loose any weight? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Cindy Currie Anderson 22 Posted September 22, 2016 No acid reflux. I stayed 2 nights in the hospital but had absolutely no complications. I've lost 70 lbs in 6 months and have 30 more to go. It's the best thing I have ever done for myself.
laliza 45 Posted September 22, 2016 Thank Cindy, I just hear negative things about revisions about not working Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Who'sThere 331 Posted September 24, 2016 Can I butt in here? I had Lapband in 2009, but my endo thinks I need a revision. I lost 65 pounds initially and kept off 60 of those until I had my daughter. I had a complicated pregnancy, and lost weight through most of it. Thanks to preeclampsia, I did manage to gain 16 pounds. All of that was gone before my preemie came home from the hospital. Since then, I have gained back all but 15 pounds of my highest weight. My insurance required a 6 month diet before my first surgery. Do you think this will be required again, or will the fact that I have a band negate that requirement this time? Also, anything else you want to throw in there will be welcome. laliza 45 Posted September 24, 2016 Hi Aivey! Congrats on your baby. Well the band looks like it's more hazardous to your health, most insurances will not hesitate to revise you from band to whatever so if you choose which is most likely the VSG or the RNY. I doubt that you will have to wait a six-month diet prior to surgery. It all depends on your insurance too. I suggest to go ahead and speak to your surgeon and get the ball rolling Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Do you have any other complications because of the band, e. g. severe reflux issues?

thisisthenewme 358 Posted October 25, 2016 I had band to bypass on Oct 3. I stayed the normal 2 nights in hospital. Recovery went very well. I have lost 23 lbs and I'm doing great. I never had GERD before surgery. Had some bad heartburn in hospital. I take my PPI as directed (once a day) no issues.
