11 weeks post op today. Slow slow too slow

Recommended Posts

11 weeks post op today and only down 27.4 lbs since surgery day. What the what? When I started for insurance reasons in January on the pre diet it is a total of 64.10. What is the deal with me after surgery though? I do believe I don't get in enough Protein and Water still. Idk how to help that. I get so full/sick feeling.

You have lost 64 pounds!! wow. There is not way you are not going to loose wt! You have a baby stomach now. It will come. Seems like I hit a standstill about every 3 weeks. I am in one now as I am 9 weeks out. I did not have to loose wt prior to surgery and I am down 37.4 pounds. If you had not lost all that weight before hand, you would be down more! Keep up the good work! I am from MS! Had surgery 7/21/16. Our stats are probably close. I am down from 251.7 to 214.7 since surgery. Good luck

You really need to meet your Protein and Water goals. That will help with healing and weight loss. Congrats on your loss!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
