Pre-Admission Testing usually consists of a chest xray, EKG, probably some bloodwork (if not already done) and a meeting with the Anesthesiologist. What to expect during your PAT Appointment:-- Your pre-admission testing appointment will last approx. 1.5 hours.-- Please bring a detailed list of ALL medications or your medicationbottles that you currently take, including over-the-counter meds.-- You will receive a comprehensive nursing assessment and pre-operativeinstructions.-- Your visit may include a brief medical history, physical exam andanesthesia by a nurse practioner.-- You will have any indicated blood tests, EKG and/or a Chest X-Ray.-- To avoid excess testing, provide the PAT department with all results oftests performed within the past month.On the day of your pre-admission testing, please remember to:-- Eat normally - no need to fast.-- Take your usual medication(s), unless you have been instructedotherwise by your surgeon.-- Bring all medications with you or a list of all the medications youtake, including over-the-counter medications.-- Bring your medical insurance card and license/photo ID with you.-- Wear comfortable clothes, and refrain from using body lotions, oils orpowder that morning (deodorant is okay).
