Anyone take liquid vitamins?

Recommended Posts

I take Calcium. Iron and Multivitamins. I think they all make me very nauseous. Anyone try any of the liquid Vitamins? I take steroids so I need a lot of Calcium but they are so big.

I am 5 weeks out and thought I was just starting the feel better but not so quick.

5 weeks out here, too, and having a heckuva time taking Vitamins due to nausea/hurling. I am switching to calcium chews instead of the horse pill wafers. Still trying to eat a piece of multi when I eat. Since I have to take 2 a day, it's challenging. If I take a whole one with food ~ hurl.

For the first 3 months I was taking chewable Bariatric Multis, plus vit B12 in a spray.

Once I finished my BN Multis, I tried regular Multivitamin, and it made me nauseous.

I then tried cutting it in half, and taking it twice a day. This worked for me, no more nausea from regular Multivitamin.< /p>

Still take vit B12 in a spray form, powder vit.C, and massive Calcium/D3 now. All good.

I am 6 months post op, so now I can tolerate some things better, but still cut my multi into halves, and take it twice a day.

For the first several weeks I used liquid multi-vitamins, Iron, and Calcium. I used Wellesse brand. I took a double-dose of the multi-vitamins, one in the morning, one at night.

My labs have always been great.

I've stopped taking calcium supplements of any kind entirely (not convinced they are useful to anyone, sleeved or not, but they appear to have some dangers). I still add in the liquid iron supplement, in addition to my regular iron pill, when my iron panel numbers are not good, and it always seems to help.

I have a tub of the Celebrate Calcium Plus blah blah blah, but I'm going to be using my Tespo almost exclusively since they came out with the bariatric bundle. If you don't know Tespo, it's pretty freaking cool. My nutritionist hadn't heard of it but after she did a little research she gave it the thumbs up. It's not the cheapest Vitamins, but I'm a gadget fan and already had it on the counter, so why not!

I take source of life liquid. I like it because it's a cap full once a day. post-298366-1474458927225_thumb.jpg

Note to self: I don't have to take this day all at once but rather one step, one breath and one moment at a time. I am only one person.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
