6 Days Post Op How Many Oz A Hour?

Recommended Posts

When I had my RNY back in July of 2013 I bought those bathroom paper cups at costco. I would measure out the amount that I should have but to tell you the truth right after your surgery if you are sipping your fluids every 5 or so minutes you should be ok. My Suregon told me ( after I was so very stressed) that my Protein Drinks also counted as my fluids. At first there is no way we are able to get in 64oz's of fluids. Just keep sipping and walking and then sip so more. It will get better each and every day. Good Luck

I am on my way home from my RNY yesterday and have been told drink 1oz of clear liquid every 15 minutes with a target of 48oz in 24 hours. The whole idea is to not over tax the new stomach. Time to sip on my Propel ????

Propel was my saving grace. I couldn't drink anything with a sweetener or crystal light or anything like that. Propel is a great choice w the Vitamins and electrolytes. Win. Win. Good luck. I was told anywhere from min. Of 60 oz to 80 oz per day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
