ShrinkingJassy 0 Posted September 20, 2016 I'm 6 days post op, kind of confused on my Fluid intake per hour. How many oz should I be consuming per hour? Sent from my LGLS770 using the BariatricPal App
shedo82773 1,236 Posted September 20, 2016 When I had my RNY back in July of 2013 I bought those bathroom paper cups at costco. I would measure out the amount that I should have but to tell you the truth right after your surgery if you are sipping your fluids every 5 or so minutes you should be ok. My Suregon told me ( after I was so very stressed) that my Protein Drinks also counted as my fluids. At first there is no way we are able to get in 64oz's of fluids. Just keep sipping and walking and then sip so more. It will get better each and every day. Good Luck

RonnieBob 29 Posted September 21, 2016 You bet!!I am on my way home from my RNY yesterday and have been told drink 1oz of clear liquid every 15 minutes with a target of 48oz in 24 hours. The whole idea is to not over tax the new stomach. Time to sip on my Propel ???? Sent from my SD4930UR using the BariatricPal App
bellalulu 87 Posted September 21, 2016 Propel was my saving grace. I couldn't drink anything with a sweetener or crystal light or anything like that. Propel is a great choice w the Vitamins and electrolytes. Win. Win. Good luck. I was told anywhere from min. Of 60 oz to 80 oz per day.
