man+and+mouse+brighter+text.jpgI'm looking for a new concept to run a few ads in September-December on various "reader" sites. I'm toying with this idea...the hunk with wrists bound by a computer mouse cable. Think it's too much? Or not enough?

What about this one? (And no...the photo is not of my husband and myself)

I hate the hunk, but I'm old. I like the library couple except he's old and she's young. What does that say? Maybe two old people or two young people would be better. Or you could have an old lady and a young man. But I hate most all advertising despite my years in an ad agency. So what do I know?

BitterOldHag! You may be my new best friend! Tell me more about your days in advertising. Generally speaking, I like creating my own ads when new books come out (which is about twice a year)--but I'm far from professional. I haunt stock photo sites and buy the ones I think I can put together to create a "quick story." Like the middle-aged couple in their kitchen. They're reading something on the laptop (an ebook, presumably) and then get "inspired." That's why I put the quote from a reader on the ad.

Teach me, Yoda.

Thanks,

Darr

Damn. I'll have to create an ad with a younger couple and post it.

I would have the first photo displaying the couple looking at the computer, one seated, the other standing and holding his coffee cup. The second photo should show them in a passionate embrace with their clothes askew. You must pick a more attractive couple for this fantasy and because most readers of romance are women, do make the man slightly younger and more attractive than the woman. The upper photo should be smaller than the pay-off passion photo. :bounce:

I've uploaded four more "idea ads" to my blog. I don't want to waste bandwidth here, so if you can...please share your thoughts here.

Here's one I like quite well...

Thanks for your help.

You are a talented and creative woman. I honestly love both of them!

(And did you switch pictures because I thought the couple looked about the same age?) Hmmmmm.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
