The Candidate 3,215 Posted September 20, 2016 I'm not an expert as I didn't have this issue with my own surgery, but I have heard of some people becoming lactose intolerant after surgery. You'll probably need to discuss it with your surgeon or personal physician for guidance.
MaryCatherine 173 Posted September 20, 2016 I happened to me I can only use lactaid milk and take lactose tablets if I had something with regular dairy.
ellsmayy 0 Posted September 20, 2016 So I rang my GP and he said that its "dumping syndrome" worst thing ever Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
jennk1975 16 Posted September 20, 2016 So the dumping may be from the lactose but it could also be from the sugar content of the milk. Are you consuming less than 16g of sugar? I heard that is about the threshold however that is probably even lower directly after surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
shedo82773 1,236 Posted September 20, 2016 Yes I became Lactose intolerant after my RNY in July of 2013. It sounds like you are experiencing this also. Or maybe the dumping syndrome I'm not a DR by no means so You should talk to your Dr to be sure.
