gina171 626 Posted September 20, 2016 You're ok!!! Think about what your life will be like if you DON'T have this surgery and your weight ruins your mobility and health....THAT'S something to be afraid of! My recovery was so much easier than I anticipated, I regret being so afraid of the surgery for years. You can do this. And there's nothing wrong with asking your doctor for a little something for your nerves, give them a call. OzRoo 1,492 Posted September 20, 2016 It is normal to be scared and afraid of this surgery. It is a major surgery and life changing one. I was in constant fear for a week pre-op. Then the day came, I was given a nice relaxing cocktail of drugs, fell asleep, then had my op, and I was fine. Just bit of pain. As gina mentioned, maybe you can get something for your nerves. Or have a massage, meditate etc Good luck!

LisaMergs 2,854 Posted September 20, 2016 Never had a moments worry or thought about it. Until the night before. I called my kids out of school for the day. I needed to see them before and after the surgery. That was the only worry or thought I had. The oldest took them all back after I came back to the room- lol - they all had afternoon tests and wanted to get back!!! Such good kids I have lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
#BirdDog 604 Posted September 20, 2016 It's a lot to handle. You have been preparing for this for quite some time and mow its down to the wire. Perfectly natural to be apprehensive. I was a little the night before. But once I got to the hospital and things started happening it quickly went away. I am extremely happy with my decision and have been since day 1 post op.
