bread is my addiction. There is no bread in my house, for good reason. If you keep Pasta, bread and high carb items in your pantry, I believe it just is too tempting. I can't risk it.

bread is my downfall as well, I used to eat two pieces of toast every morning...one with raspberry jelly, the other with honey. I am 7 months out and haven't had any bread since two weeks before surgery. The only reason I don't eat it is I know I will go back to my old habits if I do. I do crave it, esp. Bagels and often wonder if I can have just a half of one every now and then but know I can't. I will try it again after I meet goal, or maybe not :-)

I was limiting myself to a half a piece of low-cal bread a day and thought that was safe. But I really needed to get out of a stall so I cut out all carbs and it did wonders on the scale. That's where I found motivation to stay away from carbs (that and the fact that carbs are so filling, it makes it hard to find satisfaction in what little you can eat). ^_^

In my opinion, bread has no business being a part of your diet at all until you hit your goal weight and proceed to maintenence. Then it should primarily be whole grains, no "white" stuff. Protein first, then veggie if you have room. Most don't have room for even a veggie many months after surgery. So with the little real estate we have in our tummies where protein is the priority, there should be no room for bread.
