Pantyhose of Choice?

Recommended Posts

I never dreamed I would ever be able to wear dresses and skirts again but now I can! I haven't bought pantyhose in so long I don't even know what the best brands are.

Anyone have a favorite brand?

Thanks.

HA! I've worn a dress ONCE in the last 17 years (funeral) and it was a long one and I wore knee-highs. I don't think I have owned a pair of pantyhose since the mid-80's. Pantyhose and "the deep south" don't go very well together.

I think it depends what weight you are wearing

the hanes silk reflections are nice; I like really sheer hose so when I lose 30 more pounds I'll be in the donna karan sheers

(I try to avoid hose but sometimes for work you do what you gotta do!)

Thanks for the replies. I wish I could go without hose but being overweight for so long has reeked havoc on my legs. Vericose veins, spider veins, etc. So, they need to be covered up.

Thanks again.

If you're mainly concerned with comfort then look into the "Just My Size" brand...they're cut a little better for the "less than flat belly". I have to wear pantyhose all the time for work and there is NOTHING I hate worse than pantyhose that roll down off my belly in the middle of a meeting or while walking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest I started avoiding pantyhose when I hit about 260 because when I wore them they would roll down, or worse at the end of the day my thighs would be absolutely raw chafed. For a few years now I've tried not to buy anything that I couldnt wear nude toned compression knee-high stockings with. I still like compression hose from footsmart.com as they don't get runs and last forever plus they keep my ankles from swelling. I also bought some of their thigh highs which are really good because it's not as hot. I gave up wearing regular slips and discovered the culotte slips from roamans so no more thigh chafing when wearing skirts or dresses!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
