Teresa,

Sounds great. You will have to give me more information on the Challenge, is that part of TOPS?

Take the Challenge is a 6 month project that began in May with a kick off event for womens health. They began at PG Community College and have now broken off into to groups that meet on Monday or Thursday. I attend the one that meets on Thursday. The give information on nutrition, cooking, physical activity, and meal planning discussions. 202-547-5447 I don't know that name of the building but they call it the Womens Resource Center on Allentown Road, 3 blocks away from Branch Avenue.

Tonight I am going to TOPS. You can look them up on line. They are a weight loss support group for any and everyone. The are $20 a year membership fee and my group is $3 a month.

Hello my lovelies!!!!! I just found this site, and I am from Maryland (Columbia area)! I just was banded July 14th in Mexico, so I am fairly new to this journey! I would love to have a group to talk to and consult about things....such as I am already able to eat Pasta and I don't know why....am I a fast healer??? I know I should still be on liquids, but I am HUNGRY! And I tolerate it well. How much did y'all lose in the first couple weeks? I lost 5 lbs. the first week, and now in my second week I have been eating much more, but I also started exercising. We'll see how it goes....how did y'all get the pound countdown thingy on the bottom of your messages? I love it! I was 243 lbs. the day before surgery, and now I weigh about 237 - I haven't weighed in for this week yet, I'm scared.:) Anyway, great to know there are people in the area!!!! Who do you go to for fills? I need a fill doctor asap...I'm counting down to August 25th (when I can get my 1st)

Hi and welcome new MD bandsters. I live in Oxon Hill, MD. I was banded July 8 and enjoying the benefits. I lost 8 pounds in the first week.

Carrie- Yes you can eat Pasta but you are not suppose to be eating it now. You should do 2 weeks of liquids and then pureed foods. You have to be sure to get enough Protein and Water. Taking your chewable Fiber pills and Calcium pills should also help with the hunger. Also, I would eat low carb or no sugar pudding and yogurts. The help replace the food well. You know what you goals are and you had the surgery for a reason. BE THE BEST YOU!!!!

As for the ticker, go to Ticker Factory. You have to copy it in once you create it. It does not automatically change, you have to update it.

My doctor told me I would probably need a fill in 7 weeks.

Congratulations Oh Happy Day, see you when you return.

I have had Water, Crystal light, lowfat chocolate milk, chicken broth, cream of crab Soup (no chunks)..I just bought some sugar free pudding and jello...what is the most important, low fat, low calorie, or low carb?? Carrie,

You list is looking good. Also make sure you get your Protein in so things like a Protein shake, tuna fish is good but make it with a lot of lowfat mayo so its not dry and wont get stuck. Soups are good and you can put them in a blender. eggs at this point are good for you. Scrambled with cheese, yummy. And eggsalad is good too. I hope this helps you. I dont mean to come off on you hard but sometimes we need a reminder why we even did this. I still do at times too.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
