Not me, but I drank them prior to surgery, so I was accustomed to them. Is it the taste or something else?

What brand are you using? I would suggest ones from PEscience.com , and if you use the code HANA you get 20% off. They are amazing and even have a new cafe line if you like coffee. I would recommend the chocolate cupcake or Cookies and cream. I'm using the Peanut Butter cup now and it tastes like a Reese's.

Another tip is to put them in the freezer after mixing for like 15-30 minutes. I don't know why but it changes the flavor and texture somewhat. I had to do that with a brand I did not like.

My sleeve was done 9/13/16. I've been doing well aside from getting a cold 2 weeks after surgery. That's finally over! I hate hate hate that I get constipated from not eating a balanced diet. Can't wait for fruit and vegetables to be added!

I've realized today that I'm starting to feel anger towards all sorts of things and people for no reason. Must be the loss of food coming out in anger.

I'm tired often, break out in a cold sweat once or twice a day, and I'm cold often. I'm glad I did it and I. I'm making progress.

I like the chocolate Premier Protein...i need to get some

I like the vanilla, I add cinnamon and a drop of vanilla extract and serve over ice. Hmmm....almost like a milk shake, blended with fresh berries is great too!.

Had my 2 week yesterday and I am officially cleared for purees! Woohoo! Officially down 36# since pre-op diet and 22# since sleeve date 09/29. I too, am able to drink a lot of liquids but Doc told me not to worry about it, that I was doing fine.

Had my first lunch out with the boys, and ordered a black bean burger, no bun, with a side of avocado and sliced Tomato. Mushed it all up with a cilantro lime sauce and it was freakin' heaven. Ate slowly and only finished about half of it. Its not that I was full, but didn't want to push it and I felt satisfied. I wish I would have taken home the other half because with the 2 mile total walk there and back from the bar, I was ready to finish it by the time I got back to the office.

So far I'm not really missing food, I am missing beer though :( . Maybe one day.

All if all I feel great!

A really good mushy recipe for me was Shelly's pot roast with mashed potatoes - it makes a TON but your family can eat it. I added mushrooms. Tossed in the blender, a few tbsp of potatoes and a few tbsp of meat. Best mushy recipe for me!

Yup, I see what you mean, the next thing I am lookign forward to is being able to sample my BBQ. I am a big smoker of meats. Everyday, I feel a little more and more normal, just smaller and I eat a whole lot less.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
