Many people have better luck with warm or hot liquids than cold, so if you haven't, you might want to try some warm broth, low-calorie hot cocoa, or tea (decaf if necessary). You don't need Water specifically to avoid dehydration, you just need some kind of Fluid.< /p>

If you are still struggling, get in touch with your medical team and ask them for advice and guidance. You or your insurance company paid them a lot of money, and one of the things you are entitled to is post-op help. Good luck!

try different temps.....try sucking on ice, warm tea, broth....whatever works, but you MUST drink! Dehydration will set in very quickly. ....try sugar free popsicles, or Jello.....Think of it as your job.....little sips but constant sipping.

If you think it is not normal then please call your surgeon! Good luck.

I agree with @Loopylulu....it never hurts to call your surgeon if you're concerned....They are paid very well for what they do.....a weekend call is the least they can do. :-)

@@Ms. Thankful

Are you still taking pain meds? The pain meds were giving me more pain than stopping it, because they were causing my intestines to clinch basically. They keep your intestines a sleep, which is why people so notoriously have Constipation when taking narcotics.

When you are off pain meds, you might have an easier time.
