Shell Renewed 176 Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) I down a one-cup Protein shake (1/2 serving of powder in milk and/or Water in a one-cup container). I forget I'm sleeved and I down it in a couple of minutes. I do it without even thinking and I have no issues. I'm 11 days post-op. Am I stretching my sleeve? I'm anxious because protecting the size of my sleeve is higher priority to me than the weight-loss. If I protect the sleeve, the weight loss is bound to happen. MissB1982 75 Posted September 16, 2016 Hello! I don't think that's a good idea, your stomach is very sensitive, and you don't want to damage anything even if you feel fine. Plus the slower you go the more time you have to feel full. Sent from my HTC Desire Eye using the BariatricPal App
turtle5569 91 Posted September 20, 2016 @@Shell Renewed I catch myself doing the same thing, even with the Water. I'm 17 days out. Turtle5559

Try to slow down - but liquids go through your sleeve pretty fast and it's unlikely to cause any problems. I would talk to your surgeon to be safe.
kimini 175 Posted September 20, 2016 Honestly, I don't know how you can do it! At 1 month out, I still feel uncomfortable if a drink more than a couple of sips at a time. I'm still struggling to get my fluids in every day. On the upside, at least you don't have to worry about meeting your Fluid goals!
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted September 20, 2016 I mean I can do that now at 14 months, but I would have never been able to that early. Some people heal well and don't have much swelling, so I wouldn't worry but I would suggest trying to slow down if possible.
