rebelchelz 52 Posted September 16, 2016 New surgeon visit today went very good. She isn't going to have me repeat everything I have already done. all I have to do is meet with her Nutritionist on 9/26. Then they submit to insurance.....everything should be smooth since this is a required Blue Distinction Center....then we schedule preop & surgery. I started this on February 24th & this is the 3rd surgeon but I really fell hopeful that I'm finally on the right path!! HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE!!!! rolosmom7 740 Posted September 17, 2016 Wow I can't imagine having to do that. I waited 18 months but never had to switch Dr's. Best of luck Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App
hudjess 95 Posted September 19, 2016 I finally found my perfect doctor and it is my 3rd one, I have completed everything but now they are saying my visits did not count because I saw a registered dietitian so hopefully they will stop fighting with me and just submit because Blue Shield is saying that they should submit. Good luck to you.
QueenOfTheTamazons 634 Posted September 20, 2016 Im on my second doctor. I have Medical and the doctor they sent us to has a $2500 life style maintence fee that has to be paid in full prior to scheduling. My new doctor is 3 hours away, but only charges $300 and provides the liquid meals for the two week preop diet. My surgery is scheduled for one day shy of 18 months since I started the process. rolosmom7 740 Posted September 20, 2016 Holy cannoli, $2500???? I had a $500 program fee. Half up front, half right before surgery. $2500 is insane!!! Glad you found a better doctor.

Especially considering they took medical patients. If we had $2500 (in reality $5000 for both my husband and myself) to throw around we woukdnt have medical. I would think that they woukd have a sliding scale for medical patients. Plus, most of the "benefits" of their lifestyle management program wouldnt be available to us because we live 1.5 hours away.
