4 years after surgery gained 50 pounds

post-300091-14740392119578_thumb.jpg

After 4 years of Gastric Bypass the last year I got comfortable and gained 50 pounds . I'm currently 197 pounds and my wait is suppose to be 147 pounds. I became anemic because I was not in taking the right nutrition and Protein. My body does not absorb the Iron or does it take it from the food I eat . I need Iron infusion every three months . I feel very uncomfortable with this weight that I have gained . I started to research and decide to eat healthy and intake more Protein shakes and more greens. Start all over again eating small portion resetting my pouch and getting my stomach use to the way it was.

It's hard to start all over again but I don't want to be 300 pound like I was 4 years ago in March . I found this app I have been a lot good stories that have me very motivated . Good things is that it's only 50 pounds and it's not 150 that I have to lose. I luv to eat and it gets depressing sometimes . But I need to stay focus and motivated to stay in good health for my kids and husband

First let me say that you are beautiful, and I thank you very much for sharing your story. I have no doubt that you will regain control and achieve your goal. I admire every single post op that has gone before me, and I hope you truly realize exactly what you have done for every pre op that came after you.

Without you and the many others like you, there would be no us. You are my hero, my teacher, and the basis of my faith that WLS could and has changed my life forever. I owe you everything, even if you never knew. You gave me courage and strength. I was thinking about you the day I went in for surgery, and you will be forever blazoned in my soul.

So whatever you need, a hand to hold, an ear to listen, a voice to remind you just how wonderful you truly are - you have it. And not just mine either, but every other successful weight loss patient out there.

Never forget how truly remarkable you are.

Hi I just read your post and I have a little bit of info that may help you get back on track. If you go on line and look up, THE FIVE DAY RESET DIET" I haven't done it myself but in another Facebook Support Group I have heard of it being done and really helped them to get back on track. I can say if you write everything down that you eat the GOOD BAD AND UGLY it really helps also. Make sure you are getting all of your liquids in and all of your Protien. These things will help you get back on track also. If you have your paperwork that you got when you first had your surgery there is another option. You have GOT THIS!! You know you can do it because you were all ready sucessful before. You have what it takes!! Last remember to KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE!!

I did not have the bypass, but congrats on regaining your footing.

I have read many questions on here about regain and the ability to re-lose. You should keep this thread active or create another one with your story and input on how your surgery is working after a reset.

You would be a benefit to a lot of people and it would help to hold you accountable. Win-win. Best of luck.

You are beautiful. Don't worry about the 50 pounds. You took it off once, you can certainly do it again. I'm always amazed on how people to gain weight again because I thought the stomach was the size of an egg and I am petrified of the malabsorption and the dumping.. I only say that because I have no clue as to what goes on.

You'll be fine. Best wishes to you always!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
