Random Newly Sleeved Question

Recommended Posts

Hello - I was sleeved on 09/07. I was just wondering what kind of results everyone saw in the 7-10 days.

I am 5 9. My highest weight was 270 (on 07/24) and I weighed 242 on my day of surgery. (09/07)

Today I weigh 236.

I didn't lose anything the first two weeks, not even a tenth of a pound. Do NOT focus on the scale right now. You're body is desperately trying to heal, let it heal then the weightloss will come.

Best thing I can tell you is not to watch the scale and get frustrated the first month. It will come off if you follow the plan.

This is not the time to focus on results. What you need to focus on is healing.

Follow your program. Make sure you are getting in all of your Protein and fluids. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Rest. Exercise when cleared. And stay off the scale.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
