I just had this problem myself. I switched brands to Irwin Only One Liquid-Gel Multi. I would take them and start to retch. I didn't realize those were the problem until I had already ordered Irwin's Gel for men. Strangly enough, the "Men's" version didn't have the problem. So, may I suggest you just switch to another? It stinks puking in the morning. Get one that works for you.

I did liquid Multi Vitamins for the first several weeks after surgery. One dose in the morning, one at night. I used Wellesse brand (you can find it on Amazon, and I think drug stores like CVS and possibly Target and Wal-Mart). Wellesse never gave me the slightest trouble. Good luck!

was having that problem also and then would feel sick all day I just switched to the patch.. each patch is like 2 Multivitamins.. we will see how that goes. Reviews say people are having good test results using the patch. Hoping for that for me. Cost isnt cheap but if it means im not sick all day Im all about that got mine at the Bariatric Pal Store

I simply switched to taking my multi Vitamin at bedtime instead of in the am. Same thing with my D3. I do take my Calcium citrate chew first thing in the am and that doesn't bother me.

If that doesn't work, try a different brand. You must find one that works for you. I am sure you know this but they are critical for long term health post WLS.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
