I think you did fine! I don't worry about fat, I worry about carbs.

My out on the run breakfasts?

Bacon egg and chees'e biscuit at Chick Filet. Ask them to make it in a bowl and they will leave off the biscuit. ;)

McD's sausage cheese' $1 McMuffin. Take off the top (or the bottom, whichever is bigger).

Sonic's Junior bacon, egg' and cheese' burrito, insides only.

Wawa's breakfast' bowls are customizable.

Ham and cheese' slices at any market's deli counter. Make your own roll ups in the car. (I do this at lunch', too. I add a few pepper or onion strips from the salad' bar for variety. Costs pennies.)

Beef Jerky' and a cheese' stick from a convenience store. (Most of them around these parts carry good quality protein' bars' and shakes' nowadays, too!)

Soma? Never heard of it?

( and I was doing VS for my husband. You know, men and the whole VS fantasy)

"VS" as in "variable speed" (drill) -nothing dirty intended.

You know how us guys love our power tools. You should see this little beauty of a variable speed drill I have, light weight, dual speeds (0-450RPM, 0-1500RPM), 20V lithium-ion battery, etc., oh yeah!

(I know you meant Victoria's Secret" :))

Don't let 'em fool ya.....some of these chics are down with power tools.

Just look at the way their eyes glaze over when they talk about B.O.B.

VS sucks all the way around. Back in the day when I still fit in their crud, my sister went to buy me something for a birthday or whatnot. She was large, and the lady looked her up and down and told her in a very snooty voice that they didn't have anything that would fit *her*.

I get my best fit (for now anyway) with LB. But I have friends who are very hard to fit (small ribcage, huge breasts) and they swear by Soma. Pricey, to say the least, but there's nothing like a bra that really fits. They say the Soma stuff lasts a really long time if you take care of it, too.

As for food stuff, I just got released to full diet yesterday, so I haven't had much of the "caught out, must eat something" but I don't think that's too bad. When I got released to purees I was craving refried Beans, and the texmex fast food place we use doesn't have them alone anymore. So I got a bean burrito and ate the insides with a fork. I think there are acceptable fast food options if we just stop and think it through. :)

Damn. Not me. Once considered dating a guy who worked on an oil rig. Now THATS some drilling.

I need a shower.

I prefer Soma anyway. I've always had good service at the one here, and to me the quality of the undergarments is far superior to VS. highly recommend.

Just came from Soma. My girls are VERY VERY HAPPY. Thanks for the suggestion!

This thread is filled with awesome-ness.

And to think it all began by Miss Mergs feeling guilty as she ate smallish sausage.

Now....she's been coached by all to embrace the sausage and do so with vigor.

Remind me to never mention any of the words "variable speed", "drill" or "batteries" in a post again; or at least not without including the words "cold shower". :)

Omg. Would rather embrace the sausage than the stall...

Bahahah. I crack myself up sometimes!

Don't forget "silver bullet"

Oh wait. That was a different thread.

Apologies.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
