Pattypoo1 0 Posted August 31, 2007 Hi all, I had my psych eval 8/29 and passed with flying colors EXCEPT, he told me that he thinks I will have problems 3 to 6 months out because I have a history of yo-yo dieting. I told him that I assumed the band would prevent this since I will be unable to eat a lot, as long as I have regular fills. Also, why would I pay $15,000 for something and then screw it up like that? That is not my nature. How can he tell this after 165 questions? I was a little angry now I am concerned. What if he is right? I should have never paid any attention to this guy. Have any of you had a yo-yo history? and how has the band helped you.
Woodys 0 Posted August 31, 2007 Patty....I was a severe yo-yo dieter....I was banded in June of 96, reached goal approximately 1 year later.....to date I have lost 100 lbs and maintained it. I love my band.....if anything, it put my yo-yo dieting habits to bed. Carol
Mary-2b150 0 Posted September 1, 2007 That seems like such a strange thing for the psychologist to say... aren't we all yo-yo dieters to some degree? Isn't that why we're here? WOuld it be better if you never tried to lose weight (and therefore didn't yo-yo?).. Doctors can be strange... I wouldn't pay much attention to that - if you know you're going to do well then you WILL do well!
kacee 3 Posted September 1, 2007 I doubt there is one person reading this board who ISN'T a yo-yo. That's why we're in the shape we are in today! (or were, before the band)...
