My story thus far

Recommended Posts

Ive not posted in 8 days. Ive been so busy between family, work, and working out it just slipped my mind. Ive not weighed myself since the 16th and im going to stay on that mission until my next follow up oct 19th. But this morning as putting my pants on and walking over to get my belt the weight of my phone was pulling them off me. I put my belt on. Which less than a month had 4 holes left past where i normally wore it. Today i kept pulling trying to get to a hole only to realize the belt is to big for me. It feels so good to be at this point. When not weighing you question if you are losing but when the clothes get to falling off it really reassured you it was all worth it

Ive not posted in a while. Try to spare the boring details. Everything i still going great for me tolerating my food well. The past 2 weeks any pain that i may jave had from certain movements is gone so i have started lifting weights everyother day and cardio days in between.

10/19 i had another check up. 5w5days post op. I started at 391 and im down to 329. And my bodyfat % dropped from 54% to 42%. Doctors are moe than impressed and that makes me feel so good. I said my goal by the new years was to be in the 299 or lower and they said i should reach by first of dec. I sure hope they are right because thats been a huge goal. I go back for my 3 months check up 12/14 so hopefully i have achieved it

Been a month nd half since my last post or weigh in. I have a 3 month checkup coming this week the 14th so with all the stress ive had lately i weighed early expecting the worst. I could tell a difference in my body but didnt think the number would show well after 3 months of surgery and nearly 10years since ive seen this number i weighed in at exactly 300lbs today. So a total of 91lbs lost and i met my first goal of being at 300 by new years 3 weeks early.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
