It's like when a cat coughed up a fur ball. Been reminded that a napkin in lap and a quick trip to the nearest place away from family is wise. The size of your meal isn't always what will trigger this unpleasant experience. Sometimes it could be if you are too fast. So slow down and chew carefully.

Omg! "sliming" and "foaming" sound like something I wish to avoid!! Good motivation for eating very slowly, chewing thoroughly and very small amounts....

I really hope I can avoid sliming and foaming post op!

I have had my sleeve for 3 months and thank gawd no slimeing or foaming. With LapBand I had slimeing whenever I got stuck or ate almonds (I think they poked my band). I am super careful about chewing and stopping when my body lets me know I've had enough. Sometimes I actually spit out a bite I am chewing because I feel unable to swallow it.

For me, if you ignore the feeling of the food giving a little pressure in the back of your throat and keep eating (my experience with the lap band).

I'm 14 days post-op Sleeve but haven't slimed yet but I'm just in the full liquid stage still so I can't say, but I'm pretty sure it's similar. I was eating some Soup the other day, and felt the pressure in my throat so I stopped in a hurry. What was really weird was all the sudden I had a wash of sleepiness come over me. I had read another who said when she started to get full, she got sleepy suddenly too. lol. Weird, I know.

When I'm getting full, my stomach makes more noise and I feel like I want to stand up to relieve pressure.

It's very hard to describe. More like your esophagus gets full??? Like you cant swallow any more food. Like I said before, sometimes this happens in between bites. Then you need to discretely get rid of the food you are chewing into a napkin. DO NOT swallow or eat more food when you are "signaled" you are full. After it happening once or twice you get with the program real quick. The goal isnt to eat till you get full. The goal is to eat small amounts of protien comfortably over a long period of time to lose weight.

The goal isn't t be full. Once you accidently get full on solids, the discomfort will probably make it so you don't want to try again.

Weigh/measure your food and have the recommended amount for your stage. When I was at that stage 2 ounces was suggested for me. Take a bite, wait 90 seconds take another bite.

Eat your portion not more.

The problem is my program does not give amounts or measurements as guidelines. Simply eat small amounts of moist Protein for week three and learn how you stomach responds and learn to go slow and feel when you are 'done' Next week they want us to add soft/cooked veggies and fruits which I can not even fathom. I am just going to concentrate on Protein until I'm ready

I get a pain on the left side under my breast area and I start to hiccup. I am eating 3 or 4 ounces of meat and about 3 tablespoons of vegetables at dinner. Some nights all I can eat is the dense Protein. I have had none of the slimy and other things that other have described.

I am over 7 months post op and my indication of fullness didn't happen until about 6 weeks. I was on liquid for 2 weeks then got to add an egg the third week, week 4 and 5 was soft foods and finally week 6 I got to add dense Protein and vegetables. To this day I still eat slowly and measure my foods.

Ive gotten the foamies a few times and is not because I over eat but because I tend to eat too fast and slowly trying to learn not to lol

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
