gustavio 439 Posted September 13, 2016 Not to toot my own horn but I have beautiful waist length and thick hair. It's the one thing I have looks wise that I'm proud of. Would love to hear Hair loss stories and what I can do to prevent it! I'm stressed about it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
DaisyAmy 561 Posted September 13, 2016 I really don't think there's anything you can do to prevent it. People will say get your Protein in, take Biotin, use special Shampoo, etc, but it's going to happen. To what degree? Who knows. But it will come back. If you're lucky enough to start out with thick hair, likely no one will ever notice but you and your hairdresser. There were days (about 6-8 months out for me) where I could not believe how much was coming out! I can wrap the ponytail holder 2 more times than before, but no one was the wiser. And now it's growing back. Wishing you all the best in your journey.

She had gastric bypass and her hair is so thin that you can see her scalp when she isn't wearing her extensions. It scares me to death. kelliev2015 136 Posted September 13, 2016 I also have super thick hair so I feel like if I lose half of it, I'll still have more than most people. I'm super scared about it too as my hair is also one of the only features of mine that I am proud of. I think we'll be ok. Worse case, we have less hair for a few months but we'll have a lot less fat too! 1 Caligirl T reacted to this
