So depressed, I almost cried in Dr's office.

So, I went for my 3 week follow up today. Since ive been there 2 WEEKS ago I have lost 1 pound. 1 freaking pound. A week of pureed mush under 800 calories, close to my Protein and liquid goals, and I lose A pound! It took all my strength not to break down and cry from frustration.

WTH? I am so disheartened.

He told me Im doing well and not to worry about it. He told me the loss will be like steps and landings, not like a slide.

Ive heard of the 3 week stall, but technically its been week 2 and 3 stall for me. I feel like im doing so well, not 1 cheat and doing everything possible and NOTHING. It will take a few days to get rid if the funk and the feeling that Ive wasted my time.

@@frozengrapes Try not to get discouraged. This is the time for the 3 week stall. It's important to meet your Protein and Fluid goals (not just close) and the scale will move. Your body is adjusting. I hope your Dr explained that and told you to stay off the scale.< /p>

I get it. At my two week post op appointment, I hadn't lost anything, not even a tenth of a pound! I was so frustrated - I was prepared for a stall but not prepared to not even START losing! But, then the next two weeks after that I lost 22lbs. I am definitely finding that I go a week or two without losing, then drop a chunk, then hold for another week or two, then drop a chunk. Our bodies need time to adjust after each drop. Don't get too frustrated just yet - you are in this for the long haul and as long as the overall trend ends up being down, that's what matters.

Try not to stress about it. Honestly, this early out, you're really not steering the ship. Our bodies are in complete control. Your job right now is to make sure you're getting all your Protein and fluids and healing up. The weight loss will follow.

And yes, you are a lower BMI'er, so your losses may be a bit slower than someone with a 45 BMI.

Weight loss is not Fluid. We stall, we have weeks where we lose 5 and weeks where we lose .05. (or nothing at all). Just stay the course, work your program let it happen. I know it's hard to be patient sometimes. Believe me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
